Accountable to the Coordinator, Corporate Solutions, the Software Developer develops, codes, tests, and supports new software or enhancements to existing software applications and interfaces supported by the hospital. The Software Developer will be part of a team responsible for application design, development, implementation and support for critical business applications used by corporate services departments.

This role will support a variety of areas, including third party software, in-house developed applications and support for our corporate internet/intranet sites and web-based applications. Their technical skills will be used for implementing new applications and providing operational support to maintain service on current applications. The Software Developer works with other team members and business customers to troubleshoot and resolve production problems with software and is competent to work on complex programs with some guidance.

Regular Full-Time

Rate of Pay:                 $33.64 per hour - $42.05 per hour

Hours of Work:            37.5 hours/week

Qualifications

  • Minimum three (3) year diploma in Computer Science or related field; four year undergraduate degree preferred
  • Minimum two (2) years recent related experience in a programming or technical support role
  • Excellent technical and programming skills with experience in one or more of PHP, SQL, Java
  • A working knowledge of web content management frameworks, Drupal or SharePoint preferred
  • Understanding of relational databases: Oracle, MySQL, MS*SQL,
  • Understanding of system administrator tasks to support applications, e.g. Linux, Windows Server
  • Understanding of Data Transport and Markup language: HTML, CSS, CSV
  • Excellent computer skills with productivity tools (MS Office) and source code management (GIT)
  • Strong testing methodology and attention to detail
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service and meeting strict deadlines

  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care

Immunization Requirements:

  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step) and COVID vaccine series.
