The Security Specialist role reports to the Director, Infrastructure and Operations and is a subject matter expert for the Chief Information Officer and Chief Technology Officer.  The successful candidate will support the secure operations of all applications, systems, servers, and network in accordance with our policies, procedures, compliance requirements and best practices.  Successful candidate will have excellent written, oral communication skills and be able to initiate, coordinate and prioritize responsibilities while completing assigned duties on time.

• Providing technical subject matter expertise in the creation, implementation, and maintenance of secure enterprise systems. 
• Advanced knowledge of security incident and event management, log analysis, network traffic analysis, malware investigation and remediation, SIEM correlation logic and alert generation.
• Understanding of security controls/mechanisms and threat/risk assessment technique pertaining to complex data, application and networking environments.
• Utilize working knowledge of information, application and network security best practices.
• Intermediate programming skills to support development and operations teams in providing secure solutions.
• Assist team members in addressing highly complex security.
• Track and confirm vendor security alerts for impact and apply the appropriate correction to ensure ongoing secure systems.
• Expert knowledge in SIEM (Microsoft Sentinel or similar)
• Experience with Security Orchestration, Automation and Response tools (SOAR).
• Demonstrate expert knowledge in Enterprise IT operations, incident management, change management, Access/Identity Management, Security Operations, vulnerability and compliance management, ticketing system, incident ticket life cycle and SLA terms.

Experience: 

• Min 10 years of Information Security Operations on cloud hosting platforms.  Preference for candidates who have obtained certifications; CISSP, CCSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, Amazon Certified Security or Azure Security Engineer, OWASP experience
