Data Reporting Analyst- Children's Services

Summary of Duties

Reports to Manager, Children's Services or designate. Supports the effective and efficient management and delivery of Children's Services programs and functions by collecting, analyzing and reporting of financial and non-financial data used to make recommendations on the design, implementation, operation and review of provincially mandated programs, including identifying system efficiencies and sector trends.  Supports various technological applications used by Children's Services.

 

Work Performed

 

Develop and maintain program and data systems to collect, monitor and report financial and non-financial information, and create documentation of the processes required to complete these tasks.

Develop, implement and maintain program and data systems to collect, monitor and report on data inputs that affect Children's Services expenditures and budgets and to ensure adherence to Municipal and Provincial guidelines.

Prepare financial and statistical reports for internal and external purposes.

Assist in the development and preparation of Provincially mandated data submissions.

Develops forecastingand projecting models/applications.

Interpret data patterns and trends, assess data quality and address outlier data.

Assist with special projects including research, report writing, drafting procedures, participating in presentations, training and refining processes.

Produces relevant maps through Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping system and creates info­ graphics that are meaningful and use friendly.

Develop training manuals and job aids and provide training and support for the Ontario Child Care Management System (OCCMS), Web-based attendance application, On-Line Application Form (OLAF), Centralized Wait List Application (1List), City of London Website and other applications used by Children's Services and its clients.

Coordinate data from computer systems, to efficiently record and store in OCCMS and other systems.

Work closely with internal and external stakeholders and community partners on the development, presentation and implementation of Children's Services policies and strategies.

Promotes a service oriented culture and focus within work area.

Practices and promotes the City of London's Corporate Values and Behaviours in all work performed as an employee of the Corporation.

May be required to travel to child care centres and other venues across London- Middlesex.

Perform related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications/Experience

 

A University degree with Honours from an accredited post-secondary school institution in one of the following: Statistics, Sociology, Psychology, Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics or equivalent field of study.

Two years of related experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis, data collection, research, reporting and evaluation (Excel, SPSS, GIS).

 

Specialized Training & Licenses

 

Skills and abilities in the following areas are necessary:

Clear Vulnerable Persons Screening/Criminal Reference Check.

Must have advanced level of experience in data retrieval (Crystal reports, Cognos reports etc.) Knowledge of GIS and application in municipal decision making.

Demonstrated statistical analysis capabilities Advances use in Excel.

 

Compensation Range

 

$54,811-$79,298 (Level 13).

This posting is for (1) position being filled on a temporary full-time basis for up to 2 years.

Current hours of Work: Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
These hours of work are subject to change in accordance with the Collective Agreement and may include evening hours and Saturdays.

NOTE: Applicants may be required to complete a job related test.
