The Manager, Demand Generation is responsible for overseeing and optimizing Voices’ demand generation activities across various channels, including search engine marketing (paid search and display), organic search (including search engine optimization), social advertising,  email marketing, affiliate marketing and landing pages. This position reports to the Vice President, Marketing.

 

Responsibilities 

The Manager, Demand Generation’s objective is to motivate a team of channel specialists and oversee  the tactics required to drive traffic to the Voices website with the goal of conversion to a sign-up, and subsequent purchase. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Manage several direct reports, including three Channel Managers responsible for paid marketing, customer marketing and talent email marketing
  • Work closely with other members of the marketing team, including those in Product Marketing, Content Marketing and PR, to support and fulfill project launches and corporate objectives
  • Project management of all activities of your team including project  goals, timelines, internal communications, and reporting. 
  • Monitor Voices organic search results, keyword rankings, and backlinks, to ensure that as much as possible, all signs point to Voices
  • Manage SEO initiatives with a cross-functional team of developers and content writers 
  • Support the Content Marketing team by making recommendations for content to further optimize organic search objectives, to inform new content work, and optimize existing content. 
  • Oversee paid marketing efforts (with support from the Channel Manager, Paid & Social), including Google Adwords, display, remarketing, paid social and more as required. 
  • Manage and own customer email marketing program using Pardot, with support from the Channel Specialist, Talent Email and Customer Marketing Manager, to develop automations and campaigns to activate and retain customers.
  • Manage and own pages of the website relevant to demand generation, including those featuring sign-up or other lead generation forms or SEO focused pages.
  • Be the expert and authority in Google Analytics, Heap and Salesforce, for reporting, identifying trends, getting ahead of challenges, and more.  
  • Forecast and report on traffic, sign ups, customer activation monthly for company reporting
  • Remain current with various industry changes that could impact demand generation efforts, including: 
  • Spam or email-related legislation, with a focus on the United States but also Canada and other key countries 
  • Google algorithm or other search-/SEO-related changes 
  • Forecast and report on results from all demand generation activities
  • Other relevant projects as required

 

Required Skills

  • 3-5 years work experience in a marketing capacity 
  • Prior people leadership experience an asset
  • Excellent communicator and creative thinker
  • Extremely strong analytically, with the ability to perform analyses on data as a basis to inform decision making and report on results
  • Strong attention to detail, project management skills 
  • Proficiency with various online platforms including Google Analytics, Search Console, Ahrefs, Salesforce and email marketing tools like Pardot
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS and Adobe Creative Suite

 

Educational Requirements

  • BA or College diploma  with a focus in Marketing
