Who is a Payroll Analyst?

It’s an exciting time at GoodLife! This is an excellent opportunity to make an impact as we begin to build our new HRIS in Workday. The Payroll Analyst is a subject matter expert responsible for the reporting and auditing of large data sets to ensure data integrity, while maintaining strong internal controls and confidentiality of private information in support of a national payroll of over 8000 Associates.

What will you be doing?

  • Analyzes, reports and audits Associate data records and payroll output to ensure accuracy and compliance as part of the processing, importing, balancing and transmitting of bi-weekly payrolls for multiple provinces, and both salaried and hourly Associates.
  • Creates scheduled and customized reports to meet business demands by working with the requester to provide support and gain clarity of the business requirements and using the appropriate data sources and resources to provide accurate and complete information.
  • Ensures compliance and accuracy of monthly and annual legislated/statutory remittance and reports, including payroll year end audit, T4’s, T4As, ROEs, CRA, WSIB and EHT by reviewing and balancing data to identify and take corrective action to resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintains data integrity in the system by developing and running audit queries, analyzing data, creating automated processes, creating formulae and developing and implementing methods, including system testing, in order to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
  • Troubleshoots, investigates root cause, resolves or escalates payroll data import and export issues as necessary. Proactively keeps end users informed of status and provides coaching on preventative measures.

 

Do you have what it takes?

  • Post-Secondary Education in a related field
  • 3 years in a high-volume payroll environment
  • National Payroll institute (PCP) designation in good standing, or equivalent
  • Excellent Excel Data Management abilities
  • Proficient in other Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with in-house payroll software and time administration/timekeeping including troubleshooting, compliance and reporting
  • Experience with Workday a strong asset
