Position Summary

McLean & Company is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Marketing Director to lead our integrated marketing efforts across acquisition, product promotion, member engagement, and brand communication. This role is responsible for developing and executing campaigns that drive new business growth, strengthen engagement with our members and prospects, and amplify our brand presence across digital and social channels.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the Marketing Director will oversee a high-performing team responsible for lead generation, content and email marketing, product launches, events, and social media. The ideal candidate is a seasoned marketer with a strong grasp of the full marketing funnel, a passion for creative storytelling, and the ability to translate strategy into measurable impact.

 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that drives awareness, acquisition, and engagement across all channels.
  • Partner with sales teams to align marketing activities with business goals, ensuring consistent messaging and high-quality lead flow.
  • Lead an integrated planning process to ensure campaigns and communications are cohesive across audience segments and touchpoints.

Lead Generation & Demand Creation

  • Oversee the development of lead generation and demand programs that drive qualified prospects to the sales team.
  • Manage marketing funnel performance from awareness through conversion, optimizing campaigns based on data and ROI.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to design, launch, and evaluate digital campaigns (SEO, SEM, social, and paid media).

Content & Communication

  • Lead messaging and campaign development for research releases, product launches, webinars, and events.
  • Ensure all communications - email, web, and social - are consistent, compelling, and on brand for both members and prospects.
  • Partner with the Customer Marketing team to evolve targeted member communication strategies that support retention and advocacy.

Events & Product Promotion

  • Drive marketing support for McLean & Company events, conferences, and webinars to maximize attendance and engagement.
  • Oversee launch plans for new research and products, ensuring clear positioning and strong market impact.

Social Media & Brand Presence

  • Guide the social media strategy to grow reach, engagement, and thought leadership visibility across platforms.
  • Partner with the creative and brand teams to ensure consistent visual identity and tone of voice across all channels.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary marketing team.
  • Foster a collaborative, performance-driven culture focused on learning, experimentation, and results.

 

Key Qualifications & Competencies

  • BA/BS degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive marketing experience, including leadership of integrated campaigns across acquisition and engagement.
  • Proven track record in demand generation, marketing automation, and digital campaign optimization.
  • Strong experience managing cross-channel marketing including email, social, events, and web.
  • Ability to translate complex business priorities into clear marketing strategies and actionable plans.
  • Analytical mindset with experience measuring marketing performance, interpreting data, and adjusting tactics to improve outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with experience managing teams and collaborating cross-functionally.

Language Skills: Bilingual proficiency in French, Spanish or German is good to have to support our diverse client base across North America and globally.
