Description
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering or Electronics professional to join our Supply Chain Management Team to provide technical expertise in electrical components, assemblies, and supplier manufacturing processes. This role plays a key part in ensuring supplier capability, product quality, cost optimization, and continuity of supply across electrical systems and components.
- Provide technical expertise to resolve complex issues related to electrical components, assemblies, and wiring harnesses in support of sourcing and procurement teams.
- Evaluate and resolve supplier-related quality, manufacturing, and performance issues for electrical products.
- Identify, assess, and recommend alternate or new suppliers for electrical and electronics components, including source-controlled and vendor-controlled parts.
- Support supplier qualification activities, including capability assessments for electrical manufacturing and testing processes.
- Partner with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality teams to drive cost reduction, lead-time improvements, and quality enhancements.
- Provide technical guidance for supplier development initiatives related to electrical manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to address First Article Inspection (FAI) findings and recurring quality issues, driving corrective actions.
- Ensure supplier compliance with applicable electrical and electronics industry standards (e.g., IPC, SAE, CSA, military or customer standards).
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to sourcing strategies for electrical components and systems.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a college diploma in Electronics / Electrical Engineering Technology
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in electrical components, manufacturing, supplier quality, or technical sourcing
- Innovative thinking with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proven Ability to work cross-functionally and influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Sound working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience working with suppliers in a manufacturing or regulated industry environment is preferred.
- Ability to travel (5% Canadian & 5% US and International and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
Preferred Requirements:
- Logistics Engineering knowledge and Support Bill of Material (SBOM) experience
- Experience with Siemens Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management software
- Financial aptitude
