Department Overview
The MMA team is responsible for the design, deployment, and support of mainframe automation and messaging functions, including:
- Infrastructure automation and monitoring
- Message and system alerting
- Operational automation
- GDPS disaster recovery scripting and support
- Support of critical mainframe infrastructure services
Key Accountabilities
The successful candidate is expected to:
- Develop and maintain mainframe automation solutions
- Work within established automation coding standards and best practices
- Design and enhance new automation capabilities
- Support and participate in disaster recovery testing and validation exercises
- Collaborate with operations and infrastructure teams
- Help improve monitoring, alerting, and automation effectiveness across the platform
Desired Skills & Experience
- Motivated self-starter with strong learning agility
- Background in automation coding (mainframe automation experience preferred)
- Operations experience is considered an asset
- Knowledge of IBM zSeries / z/OS environments
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Understanding of security concepts and practices
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to contribute in a collaborative team environment
Technical Qualifications & Education
- Knowledge of computing and performance management concepts
- Programming/scripting fundamentals
- Experience with tools such as:
- Ability to learn and apply automation technologies within the mainframe ecosystem
- College or University degree in IT-related disciplines (Programming, Networking, Infrastructure, Storage) or equivalent experience
