Responsibilities

The Technical/Research Support 1 will be responsible to maintain the gross anatomy laboratory with the assistance of the Laboratory Supervisor. The Technician is responsible for the cleanliness of the laboratories, to ensure anatomy class needs are met with appropriate prosections material and instruments, and to assist with pre-lab procedures for our various anatomy courses. This position deals with a high level of cadaveric exposure.
 
Minimum Education, Experience, Skills and Specialized Training Required to Successfully Perform the Responsibilities of the Position
 
Education:
  • Community College Diploma (Medical or General Lab Technician Certification)
  • Funeral Service Diploma is an asset
Experience:
  • 1 year of work experience supporting funeral services, general lab or pathology
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Attributes:
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy
  • Ability to follow processes with high attention to detail
  • Ability to employ a systematic and efficient approach to work
  • Computer skills with the ability to learn and use software programs
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Personable and courteous in working relationships with colleaguesstudents and the public
  • Ability to collect and analyze data in an objective manner
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and resolve issues
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the team to achieve department goals
  • Ability to safely liftmoveup to100lbs
