About the Role
The Finance Co-Op will support all areas within the Accounting and Controlling division at PowerCo Canada. This will be an opportunity to experience different facets of finance and accounting with project and tasked based work.
This is a flex hybrid work structure, where employees can work both remotely and on-site at our St. Thomas location. this is a co-op role intended for Canadian Univeristy Co-op stduents enrolled in a co-op program. $27/ hour.
Key Responsibilities
• Basic knowledge of accounting and finance.
• Supporting month-end accounting activities.
• Assist with AP related activities, that could include but not limited to follow up of invoices, Overdue invoices reporting, Supplier bank information validation.
• Complete reconciliation activities related to credit card travel charges.
• Aid the process owners in the mapping and updating of finance department processes.
• Review, track, and present operating expense request from various departments to finance leadership for approval.
• Perform other tasks as assigned based off department need.
What you bring to the Team
• Currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary co-op program related to accounting, business administration, finance or a similar field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage and prioritize workloads within tight deadlines.
• Initiative and willingness to learn.
• Able to adapt to changing business needs.
• Demonstrates the ability to identify issues and develop practical, effective solutions.
• Follows established procedures with accuracy and supports continuous process improvement.
• Works efficiently toward defined goals and deadlines while maintaining high-quality results.
• Interprets financial data to identify trends and provide meaningful insights.
