Your role and key responsibilities
The Sr. Specialist, Supplier Interface Management serves as the primary liaison between the organization and its suppliers, ensuring seamless communication, compliance, and coordination throughout all phases of project execution. This role is critical for maintaining supplier performance, resolving interface issues, including supporting legal affairs when necessary, and supporting global initiatives such as equipment transfers and knowledge-sharing projects. The position requires strong organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to manage complex supplier relationships and ensure alignment with quality, safety, and contractual standards.
This position is in-person and located in the charming town of St. Thomas ON.
What you bring to the team
- Act as the primary point of contact for suppliers, ensuring clear and timely communication on project requirements and updates.
- Coordinates the FAT requirements, equipment delivery, installation, commissioning, and handover to production
- Identifies potential blockers in equipment delivery, including documentation and permits, utility readiness, or contractor coordination.
- Ensure efficient and timely communication with suppliers to support the development and capacity plans.
- Facilitate alignment between internal teams and suppliers to resolve interface issues and maintain smooth workflows.
- Oversee supplier compliance with contractual, quality, and safety standards; maintain accurate documentation and records.
- Coordinate supplier-related activities for project planning, execution, and ramp-up phases, ensuring adherence to timelines.
- Identify potential risks in supplier interactions and implement proactive measures to mitigate delays or quality concerns.
- Monitor and analyze process data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Convene, ramp-up, and support key taskforces.
What makes you stand out
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Operations Management, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience
- Experience in working in corporate suppliers-customer relationships.
- Familiarity with high-speed manufacturing and industrial automation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Oracle platform "Primavera") and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Deep understanding on cell production equipment design, implementation and continuous improvements
- Battery cell manufacturing experience is preferred
- Experience with China/Asian suppliers is a big plus
- Project steering skills is also well desirable.
