Senior Web Developer
About the Role
Red Rhino is looking for a Senior Web Developer who can lead the technical execution of website and digital product builds—from architecture and development through QA and deployment. You’ll collaborate closely with UI/UX designers, project managers, and the digital strategy team to build high-performance, scalable, and maintainable websites for a diverse range of clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead development of custom WordPress, or headless CMS builds
- Architect backend structures, plugins, integrations, and custom functionality
- Translate Figma/UI designs into responsive, accessible, pixel-perfect front-end code
- Manage deployment processes, hosting configurations, and server environments
- Audit existing sites for performance, security, and SEO best practices
- Ensure all builds follow agency coding standards and documentation practices
- Troubleshoot complex issues and provide technical mentorship to junior developers
- Collaborate with the broader team on scoping, feasibility, and timelines
Required Skills & Experience
- 5–7+ years of professional web development experience
- Expert-level WordPress development (custom themes, custom blocks, ACF, APIs)
- Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP
- Experience with hosting environments (WP Engine, Pantheon, AWS, Cloudflare)
- Familiarity with Git workflows, version control, and modern build tools
- Understanding of technical SEO, Core Web Vitals, and accessibility standards
Nice to Have
- Experience with React, Vue, or other JS frameworks
- Experience with HubSpot CMS or headless platforms (Sanity, Contentful)
- Background in agency environments with multiple concurrent builds

Salary Range: $80,000 – $90,000
