As a key member of our global finance organization, the Director, Global Accounting Policy will play a strategic role in shaping and strengthening the company’s accounting framework worldwide. This position is critical in ensuring the integrity, consistency, and compliance of our financial reporting across all segments and jurisdictions.

You will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing deep technical expertise and forward-looking insights on evolving accounting standards.

What you will do:

  • Reporting to the AVP, Corporate Financial Reporting, the Director, Global Accounting Policy will:
  • Develop, enhance, and enforce global accounting policies under IFRS and other regulatory frameworks
  • Research and analyze technical accounting matters, including new accounting pronouncements and complex transactions, and advise senior management on recommended accounting solutions
  • Identify opportunities and lead initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting processes
  • Collaborate with segment and other global teams to support accounting analysis over potential and completed transactions
  • As part of the financial reporting team, review quarterly external disclosures to ensure accuracy of presentation and disclosure of financial information
  • Coach and mentor team members, developing them to be future leaders

What you will bring:

  • CPA designation is required
  • Deep understanding and extensive experience with IFRS
  • Proven expertise in technical accounting research
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Adequate knowledge of internal controls over financial reporting
  • Experience with coaching and leading teams

Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: Toronto, London, Winnipeg.

The base salary for this position is between $128,200 - $178,200 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
