IT Systems Administrator
 

Who is an IT Systems Administrator?

The Systems Administrator successfully manages and configures software products and IT solutions to meet the needs of the business. The incumbent works directly with the entire IT team and other business units to understand the company's expectations. The Systems Administrator is expected to work on various ongoing exciting projects and be responsible for the design, configuration, and documentation of all IT solutions. This role is critical in providing a high-quality product and exceptional member and associate experience
 

What will you be doing?

  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and operating systems
  • Works closely with the Director of Technology to ensure proper configuration and deployment of member facing IT services
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
  • Analyze configuration issues and develop appropriate resolutions and action items
  • Install and upgrade computer components and software, and integrate automated processes
  • Execute test plan; perform validation and quality assurance
  • Work with partners and 3rd party vendors to ensure configuration follows best practices
  • Write internal configuration documentation to ensure ongoing support
  • Testing software and reviewing application logs
  • Documenting the network’s configuration and apply appropriate changes as needed
  • Act as a subject matter expert supporting the club management software, critical business applications, and any integrations required
  • Partners with others 3rd party vendors to ensure timely resolutions to problems and to assist with projects
  • Customer service focused, flexible, and willing to learn and grow
  • Accurately configure systems and solutions based on specifications submitted, client feedback, or new requirements
  • Test a configuration to ensure proper functionality
  • Special projects as directed by management
  • Additional duties as assigned
  • Establish and maintain professional working relationships with all levels of organization specifically with Senior Management team members
  • Work towards common goals in team and create an environment of trust


Do you have what it takes?

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science 
  • Certifications in PC hardware support, network troubleshooting is an asset
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple requests and tasks
  • Outstanding problem-solving abilities
  • Experience implementing and/or supporting software solutions; preferably CRM and ERP applications
  • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt new technologies
  • Experience with technical writing. This can include writing technical summaries of client issues, client-specific support documentation, technical specifications, user guides, or training documentation
  • Experience programming or supporting custom applications
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills 
  • Curious, self-motivated and able to work productively on multiple projects with minimal direction
  • Microsoft 365 experience (SharePoint, Exchange Online, Azure)
  • Creative problem solver, troubleshooter, debugger, and tester
  • Ability to organize work across multiple projects and prioritize time appropriately
  • Must have a positive attitude and the ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment
  • 3+ years of progressive work experience in configuring and supporting business applications
  • A good understanding of change management strategies an asset 
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment 
  • Establish and maintain professional working relationships with all levels of the organization including 3rd party vendors
