CAD Technician

ZTR is looking for a proficient CAD Technician to join our Rail Team for a temporary 6 month contract. In this role, you will research and gather component information needed to create drawings and documents in order to help our projects come to life, while closely working with members of our engineering, technical services and production teams.

As the CAD Technician, you will:

• Complete and maintain accurate, dimensioned drawings of electrical panels, components and interconnects for use in production
• Create electrical schematic drawings using published drafting standards
• Compile measurement, documentation and filing of component and assembly drawings
• Plan preparations of Bill of Materials for assemblies
• Assist with document filing system maintenance
• Develop innovative improvements to ZTR products, services and internal processes, and participating in the MDT process

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks drafting experience
• College diploma in electrical or electronic design, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience is preferred
• Understanding and experience in manufacturing techniques and mechanical systems design is an asset
• Familiarity of electrical schematic drawings
• Excellent attention to detail and strong time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to self-motivate and perform on small projects independently or collaboratively as part of a team
