The Associate Program Manager, Design and Production will take the lead on vehicle design and production program activities, guiding multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on-time, on budget, and to with excellence. This is a vital role supporting both our customers and our internal teams to ensure successful execution and continuous improvement across all program phases.
Key Job Elements:
- Lead all aspects of vehicle design and production, ensuring timely resolution of all issues
- Act as the customer-facing representative for the design and production activities, building trusted relationships and ensuring contract success.
- Drive program scope to meet cost, schedule, deliveries, and performance in accordance with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) requirements
- Lead multi-disciplined teams to resolve technical and programmatic challenges.
- Meet regularly with functional departments to develop, monitor, and improve overall support program performance
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective lines of communication
- Manage risk elements of the program and of the bid and proposal process.
- Review performance metrics, develop reports, and present updates to leadership and customers
- Ensure compliance with all program and contractual requirements (ITAR/EAR/FCPA/GP/SOX, etc.)
- Contribute to continuous improvement and alignment with GDLS-C’s vision and values.
- Develop inputs to contract modifications and Contract Change Proposals related to design and production
- Chair customer meetings to interpret, negotiate and resolve program and contractual issues
- Directly support all financial targets and conduct regular financial reviews
- Oversee development and on time submission of all CDRLs according to contractual requirements
Required Qualifications:
- University degree
- Minimum 5-7 years relevant experience
- Direct customer-facing experience and Project Management/Program Office experience
- Customer and detail oriented with a demonstrated ability to plan, analyze and solve complex problems
- Proven ability to lead and motivate people to achieve common objectives
- Demonstrated strength in managing relationships at all levels of an organization, both internal and external
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute effectively to achieve short and long term objectives and ensure customer satisfaction
- Self-motivated and effective in a multi-disciplinary team, including facilitating discussion, agreement and issue resolution
- Superior organizational skills with the ability to be agile, set priorities and multi-task under pressure
- Strong negotiation, oral, written, and presentation communication skills
- Experience in MS Office applications, including proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
- Ability to travel and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation
- Previous supervisory experience or experience leading teams
- Product knowledge and defence industry or military experience; familiarity with various functional areas of the business
- Previous experience working with government contracts
- Related customer experience
- Experience creating or managing metrics or other performance reports
- EVMS and Bid-X experience
