We are looking for a Principle Advisor - Information Security (Technology Advisor)

We are looking for a passionate and experienced information security delivery leader to be a part of the Technology Risk and CISO leadership team as a senior individual contributor. Working closely with our technology leaders, we are undertaking exciting work in several key areas which cross the Technology organization.

Initial areas of focus are around our roadmaps, standards, processes, procedures and ways of working to improve our identification, assessment and treatment of information security risks.
Overview
As the Principle Advisor, Information Security you are technically grounded and a pragmatic risk practitioner. You help drive good information security discussions and outcomes both by yourself and in partnership with other teams. You can help guiding Technology teams through complex issues and drive process improvements start-to-finish. You remove impediments to achieving operational readiness. You coordinate activities in close partnership with technical teams. You have a deep understanding of the Technology organization and seek to drive continuous improvement with an outcome-oriented mindset centred around business value and risk reduction. You help the CISO solve problems.
What You Will Do
- Support the CISO in key discussions requiring thought leadership and a ct as a subject matter expert on strategic initiatives;
- Work with the CISO leadership team to drive our Information Security program forward;
- Research and analyze key issues to provide the CISO with actionable recommendations and present complex ideas based on strong fact bases;
- Working directly with the CISO leaders and technology areas seek out key areas of improvement, identify teams members and guide them through to the desired sustainable outcome;
- Remove/facilitate removal of impediments and ensure team has what it needs to succeed from driving approvals to ensuring the team has required training, coaching and resources;
- Facilitate alignment with all key partners to ensure readiness for rollout and adoption, including business value measurement and feedback loops to measure success; and
- Help develop strategies and roadmaps including identifying and planning proofs of concepts which could be piloted.
- A strong background in information security with a keen understanding of all IT areas;
- A knowledge of security technology, application security, cloud security and security governance;
- Able to build broad relationship-based networks in a large organization to pull the right connections and get things done;
- The ability to communicate complex issues and trade-offs and tell a compelling story to both senior leaders and technical practitioners;
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders ;
- The ability to quickly structure and break down problems and push the team towards a solution;
- A former people leader with coaching skills and experience in driving change;
- A challenger mindset with a passion to challenge status quo to find new solutions and drive out of the box ideas;
- Believes in a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency, and trust across the team; and
- A bias towards action and personal accountability for driving outcomes either in urgent situations or patiently over an extended period for long lived problems.
