Information Technology Services

The Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) Consultant position is a key enabler for the Information Technology Services (ITS) departments to design and maintain service and support standards that meet the needs of their customers, as well as enables the delivery of consistent, high quality IT services. They will be an advocate and change maker that fosters a culture of customer service and continual service improvement through the means of people, processes, and technology. This position is responsible for providing process and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) related best practice guidance to ITS management and to staff. This position will be consulted for strategic advice and direction related to process design, improvement and alignment, metrics support, and support for Service Level Agreements. Finally, in addition to consultation, this position will be responsible for the design, documentation and implementation of these processes.

LHSC is committed to the principles of hybrid work and may offer this option to employees whose work can be performed in an alternate location, without adverse impact to the operations of the Hospital, inclusive of our Staff and Patient experience. Confirmation of hybrid work options available to you will be clarified upon hire and may be subject to change based on the duties required of your position. Successful candidates will be required to perform work within Ontario and must be available to work on location, as required.

 

Qualifications

 

As the ideal candidate, you have:

  • Successful completion of  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering or related 
  • Masters degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering or related preferred 
  • Minumun of five (5) years of ITIL/ITSM related expereince or equivalent 
  • ITIL Foundation cerification required 
  • ITIL Practice Manager certification preferred 
  • Advanced process-centric thinking/Process engineering
  • Strong working knowledge of ITIL, especially as related to incident management, problem management, knowledge management, change management, configuration management and service level management
  • Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively to achieve results
  • Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and accomplish work tasks in a timely manner
  • Strong business acumen competencies, particularly through a customer service and patient-centric vision
  • Demonstrated understanding and compliance with confidentiality requirements
  • Change leadership skills
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a working member of a team
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of productivity tools such as MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s vision, purpose and values
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
