About the Role

Reporting to the Quality Lab Manager, the Dimensional Measurement Specialist is responsible for ensuring the dimensional accuracy and consistency of battery cell components and finished products. This role focuses on precision measurement, data analysis, and equipment calibration to support quality assurance and process optimization in battery cell manufacturing.

This is a temporary flex hybrid model, requiring 2 days in the St. Thomas office, with an eventual transition to full time onsite

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform precise dimensional measurements of battery cells and components using CMMs, laser scanners, and optical systems.
  • Develop and implement measurement systems and protocols to ensure repeatability, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Analyze measurement data, identify trends or deviations, and prepare detailed reports for engineering and quality teams.
  • Calibrate and verify measurement equipment to maintain compliance with quality standards.
  • Provide feedback to process and production teams to support process control and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in root cause investigations for dimensional or geometric issues, contributing to corrective actions.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of measurement procedures, results, and equipment status in accordance with standards.
  • Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality teams to ensure dimensional conformity throughout product development and manufacturing.

What you bring to the Team

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in relevant fields such as Mechanical or Material Science Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in battery production, automotive OEM or Tier 1
  • Strong understanding of metrology principles
  • Proficient with CMM, laser systems, microscopes, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and 3D scanning systems
  • Strong GD&T knowledge
  • Skilled in interpreting technical drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
  • Proficient in data analysis and statistical process control Experience with statistical software (Minitab, JMP) and data platforms
  • Familiar with ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 16232, ISO 14644, IATF 16949, VDA, and Automotive Core Tools (PPAP, MSA, APQP, SPC, FMEA
  • Experience with root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
  • Ability to travel internationally for training and collaboration
