As the successful Associate Vice President of Engineering, you provide holistic engineering vision and thought leadership to the multi-disciplined engineering area.  Through your leadership, solutions are engineered end-to-end and done so working closely with stakeholders. Solution outcomes are fully aligned with, and maintained to, evolving business resiliency and risk expectations. Reporting into the SVP, Chief Technology Officer you provide a pragmatic and highly collaborative approach to engineering continually focused on business valued outcomes.

 

What you will do

  • Lead a team of direct reports and their teams, who are instrumental in setting and leading the journey in shifting engineering mindsets and behaviors across infrastructure to future desired states.
  • Be accountable for driving Engineering excellence focused on customers, advisor and business outcomes through ensuring highly resilient, innovative, and agile systems.
  • Ensure deployed solutions continually meet Architectural intent and operational supportability needs through developing and delivering quality engineered systems aligned with the business system criticality.
  • Partner and collaborate closely with all stakeholders, leading Engineering direction.
  • Establish and ensure adoption and adherence to engineering excellence across I&O.
  • Provide system technology solution design expertise, disciplines, and practices for I&O.
  • Ensure timely tier 3 Engineering support and expertise to operational areas in the resolution of incidents and problems.
  • Maintain senior level relationships with external vendors and industry forums on technology and operational directions relevant to the direct areas of accountability
  • Promote, develop and evolution a strong proactive risk culture within the operational domain
  • Be responsible for annual budget planning and forecasting, while identifying and delivering on annual effectiveness improvement plans

What you will bring

  • 10+ years’ experience in senior engineering leadership roles spanning multiple technology disciplines
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Information Technology or Engineering
  • A pragmatic engineering excellence mindset, passion and drivewell balanced with business needs and valued outcomes.
  • Experience with software-defined infrastructure and the ability to address shifts in skills and talent required to achieve success
  • Deep understanding of how large enterprise organizations work, within in a regulated environment
  • Experience and depth of knowledge with modern ways of working within a technology landscape
  • Ability to attract, retain and develop talent
  • Ability to strategically manage vendors and financial management
  • Proven experience acting as a change agent lead with initiatives across broad technology groups
  • Ability to challenge and collaborate effectively to find the right balance between building relationships and driving change
