About the Role

 

The Marketing Communications Specialist role is focused on developing content that is well aligned with our company’s ideals, provides valuable information on our products and services, and ultimately engages our customers. You will deliver digital content across several platforms, including social media, ensuring it is customer-focused and search engine optimized. You will also work closely with members of the Marketing team, as well as other departments, to strategize content and drive lead generation. You must possess excellent communication (written and verbal) skills, along with a high degree of creativity and attention to detail. To carry out the duties of the Marketing Communications Specialist role, you must consider yourself a passionate, self-starter who has a deep understanding of content marketing and best practices. This is an entry-level position with progression opportunities within the Marketing department.

 

Resposibilities

  • Create content that is consistent with our company’s strategy and mission for a variety of audiences via blog posts, case studies, product descriptions, web copy, ad copy, landing pages and other content types (e.g. white papers).
  • Deliver engaging content across various social media channels, such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
  • Draft content within set deadlines and submit to the Marketing Manager for review.
  • Ensure web content is customer-centric and Search Engine Optimized (SEO).
  • Perform in-depth industry research to identify trends, develop original copy and produce content that drives inbound leads (i.e. evergreen content).
  • Proofread content for errors and inconsistencies, and help edit any content produced by other members of the Marketing team.
  • Collaborate with Marketing team members on several projects and initiatives, including the Marketing Operations Coordinator and Graphic Designer(s).
  • Monitor content-specific metrics and use data-driven insights to improve written material.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, Product and Technology teams to produce strategic content that appeals to the needs of our customers.
  • Assist the Marketing team in developing content for various advertising campaigns.
  • Follow best practices in content marketing, web usability, web design, SEO and keep up to date with social media trends.
  • Partner with the Marketing Manager to organize, edit and deliver our internal newsletter.
  • Write content for trade shows, conferences, career fairs, etc.
  • Other projects, duties and initiatives as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Completed post-secondary education in English, Marketing, Journalism, Communications or related discipline.
  • 2-3 years of work experience in a content writing, marketing and/or communications role.
  • Content writing or copywriting experience is a must, preferably related to the automotive industry.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • A high degree of initiative and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to communicate with various stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines and manage time effectively.
  • Highly creative with the ability to tell stories and captivate your target audiences.
  • Team player with experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Working knowledge of content management systems (i.e., WordPress).
  • Proficient in Google Suite as well as Microsoft Office suite.
  • Bilingual (French/English) is an asset.
