General Accountant

JMP is currently looking for a Part-Time General Accountant to join our finance team on a contract basis. As a key member of the finance team, the General Accountant will be responsible for supporting JMPs accounting processes and procedures including but not limited to balance sheet reconciliations, including GST/HST, tax remittance accounts, accrual accounts and more. This is a hybrid model position with the flexibility of working from home and office. This will be a 3-month contract to start with the potential of renewal.

What Would a Typical Day Look Like?

• Reconcile general ledger accounts
• Assist with month end and year end close
• Ad hoc tasks as required
• Preparation for Year-end Close and Audit as required

What Qualifies You for this Opportunity?

• Post-secondary education in a related discipline
• 5-7 years’ experience in a similar role (desirable)
• Demonstrated ability to take charge and work with little supervision and guidance
• The ideal candidate will have their CPA or working towards completion or experience matching equivalent.
• Experience working in an ERP system environment
• Extremely detail oriented
• Analysis and reporting experience
• A polished professional with a strong sense of urgency and professional attitude
• A superior communicator (both oral and written)
• Knowledgeable at an advanced level in MS Excel
• Dedicated and highly organized with the ability to multi-task in a demanding environment
