We are looking for an Application Support - Software Developer

 

The Application Support (Software Developer) will participate in all aspects of software development and maintenance within the IC Tech division.   This role will also participate in some project activities and on an on-call rotation. 

 

This role involves the following activities:

Design, develop, integrate, test, transition to production, and maintain software applications

 

What you will do 

  • Provide production support and application monitoring and tuning
  • Provide cross-platform experience with ETL, Control-M, MOVEit, mainframe, client/server
  • Complete development assignments and participate in project work activities as required
  • Update the software development environment, methods, and best practices as required
  • Provide ongoing daily production support and remediation of business applications
  • Being part of the rotation for monitoring incidents
  • Contribute to the elimination of problems through permanent fixes including the identification of solutions, scoping the work, and executing the changes
  • Complete scheduled maintenance, legislative changes, yearend activities, and changes required to optimize and streamline the existing application inventory  
  • Troubleshoot application problems, and maintain an inventory of expertise for identified problems
  • On-call support rotation is a component of this role (occasional after hours and weekend work required)

What you will bring 

  • Degree/diploma in related discipline (computer science) or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Training or knowledge and experience with:
    • JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow
    • Office 365
    • Job scheduling and file transfer tools (Control-M and MOVEit)
    • SQL general knowledge of the query language
    • Experience in the following areas would be an asset:
      • ETL Ab Initio
      • ETL knowledge and experience
      • DOC1
  • Bilingual would be an asset
  • Software design methodologies and documentation tools
  • Software requirements analysis and design principles
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, plan and organize your own work, communicate effectively in writing and verbally in person or remotely, initiative and attention to detail
