About the Role:
Hive Media Group is looking for a Content Coordinator to join our team, working on an exciting military history brand with over 3M Facebook followers and 50M pageviews a month. The Content Coordinator will help create, write, optimize, and distribute comprehensive and unbiased editorial content about military history, from ancient battles to modern warfare and everything in between.

Our ideal candidate is passionate about being part of a leading resource for military history enthusiasts, researchers and students. Our candidate should understand that military history can often suffer from being boring and academic, and instead wants to enrich this topic for a broader audience through their storytelling skills. This role is a great opportunity for anyone with an eye for interesting facts and fascinating pieces of military history and who wants to make an impact on a large and engaged digital community.

**This is a full-time, in-house/ hybrid position in London, Ontario**


Responsibilities:
  • Curate and identify our best and highest-performing stories for expanding content use;
  • Revise and extend published articles with new information as needed;
  • Analyze performance trends of published articles in terms of content type, subject, and other key metrics
  • Manage a high level of content output requirements on a daily basis;
  • Write original posts focused on a wide variety of military history;
  • Create engaging headlines and social thumb images;
  • Develop various content types, including but not limited to long-form SEO articles, short-form engagement pieces, and slideshows;
  • Participate in daily and weekly feedback sessions;
Skill Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of and passion for military history and news, both modern and historical;
  • Highly proficient in the English language, spelling, punctuation, and grammar
  • 1 year of high-volume digital media writing experience in a professional setting
  • Ability to quickly research and learn new areas of brand-related topics;
  • Can quickly develop stories from ideation through the final written word;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment;
  • Has an eye for attention-grabbing image selection that works on social media, Google search, and syndication platforms;
  • Self-starter with the ability to collaborate with team members and other departments in order to support brand growth;
  • Is able to continuously meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing quality;
  • Experience in WordPress and on social media platforms is an asset.
