Product Manager - Hybrid

About the job

At Trojan Technologies, we believe delivering clean water to the world is critical. Water is the world’s most precious resource, with the supply of clean water under substantial stress due to industrialization, increasing demand, and rising biological and chemical contamination. Our mission is to ensure greater water confidence and environmental stewardship for people, industries, and municipalities, improving the lives of over one billion people globally.

As part of our global team, you’ll work alongside customers from municipalities serving communities as well as industries producing pharmaceuticals, food, beverages and more. All consumers of water are looking for sustainable resilient solutions.

The Trojan team is welcoming and supportive, that seeks new ideas and allows you to follow your strengths. All of us feel privileged to work on innovative technologies that bring clean water to the world—we hope you will, too.

Trojan is proud to be one of Danaher's Water Quality companies. Motivated by the highest possible stakes of climate change and global health, we’re working together to find innovative technologies that will sustain water and our environment for generations to come.

About the role:
As a Global Product Manager at Trojan, you will help our customers meet their water quality objectives through the introduction and management of safe, reliable, sustainable solutions. You will be responsible for guiding new product strategy to solve water challenges in Municipal or Industrial applications. As part of the Strategy and Marketing team, Product Managers are at the nexus of the business, working globally and cross-functionally.

This is a hybrid role based at the Trojan Technologies headquarters in London, Ontario, Canada and requiring 25% travel. If you are customer focused and thrive in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, read on to learn more about this opportunity.

In this role, you will:
  • Work with customers and the commercial team (Sales, Service and Marketing) to identify value drivers and customer needs across the assigned product portfolio
  • Create value for customers through effective commercialization of New Product Developments including accountability for revenue and gross margin achievement
  • Prioritize opportunities to enhance customer value and drive growth (e.g. new features, functions, applications), working with Sales, Marketing, R&D, Operations and Service to implement
  • Develop training and tools to educate customers and commercial teams on new products and improvements
  • Manage the product lifecycle working with cross-functional partners to ensure customer value and profitable growth for the portfolio from inceptions through to end of product life

The essential requirements of the job include:
  • Bachelor of business or engineering with 5+ years’ experience working customers in the Municipal or Industrial water sector
  • 3+ years Product Management or upstream product marketing experience
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams such as R&D, marketing, sales and operations to bring new products to market
  • Strong business acumen, including market segmentation and financial analyses (product growth, profitability over lifecycle)

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience:
  • Working cross culturally and possessing an understanding of the dynamics of different global markets
  • Setting and meeting aggressive objectives with prioritization skills and ability to recognize/escalate issues appropriately
  • Developing strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, including ability to influence and communicate at senior levels
  • Collecting customer insight to support new product/feature value propositions
  • MBA or other marketing advanced degree would be an asset

When you join us, you’ll also be joining Danaher’s global organization, where 80,000 people wake up every day determined to help our customers win. As an associate, you’ll try new things, work hard, and advance your skills with guidance from dedicated leaders, all with the support of powerful Danaher Business System tools and the stability of a tested organization.

At Danaher, we value diversity and the existence of similarities and differences, both visible and not, found in our workforce, workplace and throughout the markets we serve. Our associates, customers and shareholders contribute unique and different perspectives as a result of these diverse attributes.
