This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement in which you can work part-time at the Company location identified above and part-time remotely from your home. The Opportunity:

The Senior Accounting Associate will be primarily responsible for functions including supporting the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close process. In addition, this position will work closely with the Controller to drive overall process improvements that promote scalability and provide support. This position has significant responsibility for analyzing and reporting the financials by applying principles of accounting to perform duties at a high standard.

 

As a Senior Accounting Associate, you will:

Closing Activities (75%):

  • Enter various journal entries and reconcile various balance sheet accounts monthly to ensure accuracy.
  • Compile and complete various reporting requests.
  • Coordinate monthly financial closing and analyze income-related accounts for reasonableness to provide financial reports.
  • Interface with corporate finance department regularly to ensure financial data in a timely manner.
  • Interface with internal departments to compile financial data to satisfy corporate consolidation reporting requirements.
  • Assist the Controller to perform initial financial department audits to ensure compliance with accounting policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Maintain record retention requirements for the Finance Department
  • Support project accounting to ensure proper treatment of multiple element arrangements, revenue recognition, and accounting for project obligations.

 

Financial Reporting (20%):

  • Compile financial data for corporate tax reporting to comply with federal and state governmental requirements.
  • Prepare various reports assisting in the new ASC 842 reporting (Leasing Disclosures), filing, and reconciling sales tax, preparing tax reports, reconciliations for deferred revenue, bookings, and shipments by country.
  • Compile sales tax data to comply with federal and state governmental requirements.

 

Danaher Business System (DBS) (5%):

  • Embrace and utilize a culture with regular kaizen activities, leveraging daily management and continuous process improvement to achieve sustainable competitive advantage.
  • Solves technical problems, evaluating systems and or processes to determine root cause and implement corrective actions as required, engaging subject matter experts as needed
  • Continuously improve our execution plans for projects, drive improvements thru Danaher Business System tools
  • Ability to travel 10% of time

 

Are you qualified? The essential requirements of the job include:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP required
  • 5-7 years of progressive finance and accounting experience

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience in Management Accounting (i.e. understanding of entries/double entries in finance)
  • Experience with budgets, P&L and sales/revenue reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills (including v-lookup, and advanced formula execution)
  • Use of financial reporting tools including experience with a large ERP (including project modules), Hyperian (Onestream), Power BI
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal•Team player with a positive can-do attitude

 

It would be a plus if you also possess:

  • Experience in project accounting
  • Advantage in holding, or close to obtaining, a professional accounting designation – CPA, CMA
  • Experience in absorption accounting
  • Knowledge of municipal and industrial water market landscape
