Team Lead, Supplier Quality

 

About the job

Reporting to the Director, Vendor Management the Team Lead, Supplier Quality will work cross functionally to serve as the subject matter expert for supplier quality. This may include but is not limited to manufacturing and CSR audits, manufacturing readiness, supporting the FAI process, first production run, root cause corrective action, onboarding a new vendor and supporting the approval process. This role will work closely with Product Quality, Product Development and lead the Senior SQE team.

 

In This Role You Will

  • Lead the Senior SQE team
  • Coordinate and lead Mfg. and CSR audit, review, and follow-up to ensure alignment and corrective actions are managed and followed through
  • Support the vendor sourcing qualification process
  • Lead and support the vendor approval process for any new potential vendor: coordinate the resource to conduct a factory MFG & or CSR audit prior to new POs being issued
  • Take new vendors through onboarding actions
  • Lead Vendor Development Plans, including the ongoing development activity for top suppliers focused around areas where improvement is required or can support the development of StarTech.com and vendor relations
  • Lead the New Product Quality Introduction, ensuring product readiness with onsite visits
  • Interact cross-functionally with various internal contacts including Vendor Management, Product Management, Supply Chain (logistics escalations & rework schedule), Product Development (NPI) and Product Quality

 

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics, Mechanical) or: 3- or 4-year Diploma in a Business/Commerce, Engineering or Supply Chain Management discipline
  • College, University, recognized technical institute and or Certified Quality Engineer
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Quality and or Supply Chain, Purchasing or other directly related experience
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in leading a team
  • Experience in root cause and corrective action (RCCA) techniques such as Six Sigma, Ishikawa (Fishbone) and 5 whys
  • Experience or certification in industry continuous improvement processes
  • Excel and SharePoint proficiency
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, technical aptitude and decision-making ability
  • Strong demonstrable knowledge of manufacturing process and production equipment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to write technical documents in English
  • Experience with manufacturing audits and CSR audits
  • Experience developing processes
  • Familiarity with production process (CP, SOP, SIP, Tooling) is required
  • Ability to comprehend the technical and functional aspects of a product
