Job Description
Position Summary
A senior Mechanical Engineer who performs a variety of complex engineering and product design assignments supporting Engineering and Product Development initiatives for water/wastewater treatment equipment. Working as part of a cross discipline team in a collaborative environment you will have influence over all aspects of the product lifecycle. Products developed will directly impact water/wastewater quality globally.
Accountabilities
- Provides expertise and working knowledge of relevant mechanical standards around product design requirements such as ASME BPVC Section VIII Div.I/II and ASME B31.3.
- Effectively facilitates meetings, teleconferences and other communications with internal and external parties.
- Provides Mechanical Engineering expertise to the design and development of UV disinfection equipment for water/wastewater treatment. This equipment may be pressurized closed vessel or non-pressurized open channel.
- Performs Engineering assignments requiring broad familiarity with a variety of mechanical theories and concepts.
- Investigates and provides solid engineering solutions for product issues, continuous improvement and value engineering opportunities.
- Solves problems using a combination of standard procedures, modified standard procedures, and developed methods.
- Collaborates with Electrical and Controls Engineers to integrate Mechanical Engineering designs into the product.
- Collaborates with a global vendor base to develop new products and processes.
- Creates and executes plans to achieve prescribed objectives.
- Makes independent studies, analyses, interpretations and conclusions.
- Provides professional and comprehensive technical documentation and training.
- Investigates and implements Engineering changes to existing products.

- Team Training on relevant design standards.
- Review and propose updates to current standard operating procedures.
- Review and implement product safety standards.
- New product and technology development with SQDC (Safety, Quality. Delivery, Cost).

Qualifications
- Registered Professional Engineer with 8+ years of related work experience.
- Proven track record developing innovative design solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
- Ability to coach team members on relevant design standards.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities using project management techniques.
- Expertise in the use of FEA and FMEA to design and construct systems to pressure vessel standards.
- Expertise in the use of Solidworks and its related toolset.
- Familiarity with a variety of manufacturing processes such as welding, machining, casting and injection molding would be an asset.
