This position offers an exciting leadership opportunity within the King’s Senior Administrative Team to collaborate within the King’s community, affiliated University Colleges and Western University to deliver information technology services for students, employees and faculty.

The Director of Information Technology Services will provide strategic leadership in the management, planning, coordination, supervision and evaluation of Information Technology Services. They will specifically provide oversight to the management of King’s computer software systems, servers, and networks, for the implementation and integration of enterprise systems and associated subsystems, web site design, E-learning support, media technology services and operational support activities.

The Director of Information Technology Services will develop, implement, communicate and evaluate information technology policies and procedures.  They will constantly monitor the Information Technology Services plans, policies and guidelines and modify as necessary to meet the needs of King’s.   The Director will be accountable for continuous improvement of the cyber security program through identification of risk, recommendations for improvement, automation of alerts and remediation and communication with other IT functions.

The Director will lead the Information Technology Services team by developing annual and long-range departmental plans, procedures and methods for meeting goals and providing services. They will lead the implementation of best practices in project management and will be responsible for providing guidance and oversight in project lifecycles from intake to delivery and closure. Specifically, they will consult with the Academic Dean’s Office and faculty on needs related to digital pedagogies, technical class-room requirement and overall support for King’s teaching and research strategies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5-years in a management or supervisory role within an ITS environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, negotiation, risk management and dispute resolution skills.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making ability with experience coordinating/leading projects, including designing and re-designing processes, as well as implementing changes in computer systems
  • Demonstrated discretion and tact when making decisions for the organization and department.
  • Competent leadership and team building skills with a strong understanding of the needs of King’s IT users
  • Flexibility in adapting to change and in participating in consultative decision-making decisions.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and participation in industry associations
