Video Manager

ABOUT THIS POSITION 
 

Digital Extremes is seeking an experienced Video Manager to join the team, this individual will lead the video team to create award winning video assets. Initially this role will be a key individual contributor producing assets alongside the team, this will account for about half of their time, the other half will be spent focused on improving the team by expanding and improving their capabilities and output, eventually leading to less time spent on direct creation.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
 

• Lead the team to create engaging award winning videos for our players
• Own the vision, strategy and roadmap for our video production pipeline
• Be a key individual contributor directly creating video assets alongside the team
• Write outlines and script concepts for various projects
• Lead, mentor and grow a team of talented video creators, expanding our capabilities and output
• Work closely with other marketing, community, and development teams to insure videos meet our strategic objectives and are delivered on-time for dependent assets
• Foster a culture that evaluates what resonates with our players and the market and uses that information to experiment and improve our assets
• Streamline our asset production process, finding opportunities to make video creation and output more efficient while maintaining or improving quality and impact
• Learn and master our custom game engine to then be able to teach and train others
• Help expand the teams capabilities within the engine and advocate for more support across the organization

REQUIREMENTS 

• 8+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ managing video teams
• Goal-oriented and competitive, with excellent follow-through on commitments
• A strategic thinker who has created a clear and innovative vision for past products
• A team player with excellent communication skills and experience working with and influencing a diverse set of stakeholders
• Experience achieving strategic objectives/creative strategy within video assets
• Experience assigning resources effectively
• Confident with ownership over roadmaps
• Enjoys conceptualizing video projects through outlines and scripts
• Excels at producing high end video content as an individual contributor
• Familiarity with game engines (like Unreal or Unity)
• Knowledge of video formats and different platform requirements
• Proficient in video editing techniques and software (Ex: Adobe Premiere)
• Has good understanding of lighting and camera knowledge
• Has Experience with colour grading and post FX
• Excellent at managing a good work life balance and ensures the team does too
