Director of Operations, Control System Integration
 

The Director of Operations, Control System Integration Division is a key member of the senior leadership team and is responsible for ensuring branch office operations within the division execute according to our business and growth strategy. This will be achieved through collaboration, influence and relationship building with all internal stakeholders to ensure flawless and consistent execution in the JMP way of service delivery.

 

The role will lead a team of Business Unit Managers by providing mentorship, direction, and career support. This leadership position will set the example of service excellence, customer commitment and foster a culture of accountability and engagement. They will be an example of JMP’s values to all employees. The incumbent will be accountable for driving quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement of JMP’s execution capabilities by improving project management, execution methodologies, and by broadening vendor, client, and partner relationships.

 

The role will collaborate and partner with the Director of Sales to ensure a clear strategy exists and that marketing and sales responsibilities are aligned within the various Branch Operations.

Role Mission/Purpose

  • Ensure operational excellence as per all branch business plans
  • Develop, lead, and manage the various service delivery operations leaders
  • Support the development of processes, tools, initiatives, and training to service delivery efforts
  • Act as a spokesperson and advocate service excellence within JMP and represent the company’s vision and values
  • Key Performance Metrics - Profit Margins for the Division (coming from each business unit), Customer Satisfaction Scores (using NPS system) and supporting year over year sales growth.

 

Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Coordination

  • Manage and lead Business Unit Leaders with direct reporting
  • Provide teams with direction, leadership and support with their individual performance plans as well as driving the Three Year, One Year and Quarterly Execution Plans.
  • Align Business Unit and Divisional priorities with those of the Segment and overall company.
  • Work with Sales and Marketing to help define and align strategies across JMP Business Units within their division

 

Career Development

  • Develop and mentor employees
  • Identify recruiting opportunities and provide support for recruiting activities
  • Be involved in hiring decisions incorporating input from managers and HR
  • Monitor Health & Safety compliance
  • Manage Performance Management initiatives for direct reports by:
  • Completing mid and year end employee reviews
  • Helping define employee career plan
  • Identifying the training and mentoring requirements of the team

 

Market Best Practices and Analysis

  • Provide intelligence regarding best practices, customer experience expectations, market trends, and service delivery improvement opportunities
  • Obtain feedback through formal and informal surveys

 

Project Management System

  • Coordinate the development and management of various project management templates and tools and coordinate implementation and execution
  • Ensure PM Adherence is in line with company targets and expectations

 

Business Planning

  • With the Sales Director, co-lead in business planning processes for business unit operations through strategic planning and establish business mandates and direction
  • Use market knowledge to provide direction and advice to JMP
  • Develop and maintain a coordinated service delivery plan
  • Work with Managers to develop plans to meet YOY revenue growth and profitability targets

 

Communicate Service Delivery Expectations within JMP

  • Identify and develop relations with internal service delivery leaders/employees
  • Conduct regular presentations at town hall meetings with all branches
  • Encourage communication and resource sharing between all the branches
  • Provide employees with information to deliver JMP excellence service standards
  • Work with managers and customers to improve existing service delivery strategies

  • PE/P.Eng. designation or ability to obtain such is preferred
  • Ability to travel internationally as required
