You have the ability to develop and execute business strategies, will be instrumental in the provision of global marketing direction, and can easily adapt in an ever-changing environment to significantly increase revenue.

In addition, our systems integrate within the communication architecture of the locomotive, making it possible for data aggregation and information transfer between multiple on-board processors.

Our Telematics Solutions enable remote Railcar and Maintenance of Way (MoW) construction equipment monitoring so customers can manage mobile assets. ZTR offers Railroads, MoW Contractors, Lessors and OEMs unparalleled visibility across the entire railway network to increase availability, enhance reliability and improve maintainability. Our customer base includes short line railroads, as well as all billion-dollar Class 1 railways located on six continents across the globe.

Job Details

All departments in ZTR report to the President.  This position provides strategic leadership for the development and growth, while ensuring teams are aligned with the company’s mission and objectives. 

This individual will provide leadership and focus on defining and launching new products and services, global product marketing, business development, technology, and sales.

Position Responsibilities

Leadership

• Drive results of the business unit with regards to financial, marketing, sales, operations, customer service and new product development
• Ensure cost and time effective delivery of services and solutions
• Mentor and coach key personnel
• Inspire highly technical and innovative employees
• Liaison with clients, business partners and industry associations to further the growth of ZTR and propel the industry

• Analyze budgets and financial reports regularly
• Display visible, creative and inspirational leadership
• Demonstrate emotional intelligence to lead the company by example and with confidence
• Develop, enforce and re-evaluate company policies and procedures

Strategy

• Provide vision and lead strategy to meet business needs, while identifying new opportunities for further growth
• Develop and implement an effective organizational structure to drive effective execution of initiative execution
• Significantly grow SaaS and services opportunities

• Create and maintain key strategic alliances and partnerships

 Business Development

• Drive Product Marketing to research and obtain voice-of-customer to reveal new innovative product and services opportunities

• Look for opportunities for investment/investors, partnerships, alliances and mergers.
• Create and maintain relationships with industry leaders
• Conduct C-level customer meetings

• Promote global expansion

• Participate in industry trade shows and various marketing endeavours, and campaigns
• Report to the board of directors and preside at board meetings.

 Education and Experience Required

• 10+ years of experience in a senior management position, preferably as President, CEO, Chief Commercial Officer, or Director of Business Development with P&L responsibility

• A Master’s Degree in a business administration program or similar field would be an asset
• SaaS and services experience would be an asset
• Proven strategic planning and execution experience, with proven ability to set vision and strategy for operations
• Proven leadership skills – passionate, positive attitude, persuasive, innovative, encouraging and motivating
• Data-driven with strong analytical and quantitative skills as well as attention to detail
• Excellent written, interpersonal and presentation skills
