Business Development Manager

 

Description

The Business Development Manager will lead the Business Development Rep team by ensuring the team members have the correct skills, tools and support to be effective. The Business Development Manager will also motivate team members to keep them engaged, and develop the sales team to be successful through coaching and mentorship programs, which develop employees through a certification process.

Key Activities/Tasks

Identify skill gaps and training opportunities for employees in

  • Sales skills – scripts, professionalism
  • Research skills – understanding industry/company challenges

Provide follow up training around tools, processes and expectations training in; Salesfoce.com; LinkedIn/Sales Navigator and Outlook

Provide proper support to employees through;

  • Coaching/mentoring – 1-on-1’s every week
  • Expectation setting and monitoring goals for all Commercial Partners
  • Top of Funnel/Prospecting support
  • Help to create cadences for prospecting

Provide developmental opportunities by;

  • Encouraging development of differentiated skills – e.g.: Value Selling Techniques, sales techniques
  • Helping employees through the employment transition period, into their next Info-Tech career path
  • Develop Commercial Partners to graduation

Manage projects/initiatives – e.g.: focused calling campaigns, data analyst, interoffice communication, department integration

Ensure Commercial Partners book meetings consistently for Managing Commercial Directors/VP’s of Business Development by:

  • Manage activity outreach (number of calls, emails, LinkedIn)
  • Manage all marketing/hot leads
  • Manage cadence structure

Lead by example through Info-tech's Core Values through positivity interaction with employees holding them accountable, and teaching where gaps appear

Build employee training using PowerPoint across a variety of topics e.g. value selling, objections handling

Education and Experience:

  • University degree in business or marketing preferred
  • Post-secondary education required
  • 2-5 years of sales experience
  • Experience in call center environment required
  • Experience using Salesforce an asset
  • Experience using SalesLoft an asset
  • Dynamic person who can work in a fast paced team environment

Skills:

  •  Skilled in Microsoft office Suite's PowerPoint, Excel & Word
  • Strong Leadership skills; able to mentor, coach, and develop a team of 15-25
  • Experienced presentation skills; comfortable presenting to groups of 25-45
  • Conflict resolution management skills
