Senior Data and Analytics Developer

We are looking for a Senior Data & Analytics Developer to develop, enhance and maintain our IoT data infrastructure. Our ideal candidate will have proven experience in managing data at scale, in the cloud, and a strong software development background to extract value from ZTR’s data assets with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

As the Senior Data & Analytics Developer, you will:

• Apply standard data modeling and advanced statistics/analytics methods to structure large data sets.
• Maintain and enhance established data lakes and warehouse infrastructure in Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud providers.
• Maintain platform performance/scalability and monitoring as well as implement proactive measures to meet defined requirements.
• Support development/maintenance of dataset curation for advanced analytics applications
• Support data governance requirements
• Develop and maintain performant ETLs
• Work with analysts, subject matter experts and customers to help define new data project requirements.
• Provide guidance, mentoring and support to other members of the team.

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems or related field. Masters degree an asset.
• 5+ years implementing and maintaining large scale data platforms in AWS or other cloud infrastructure
• Relevant experience with relational and NoSQL databases, Apache Spark and AWS Glue
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect preferred
• Strong development experience in Python, R or similar
• Experience with developing Machine Learning (ML) application and curating datasets
• Strong awareness of data-related security best practices implementation
• Experience with self-serve Business Intelligence (BI) tools is an asset
• Knowledge of Software Engineering best practices, cloud deployed production systems, database structure systems and data mining.
