  • Provide technical leadership in support of program execution as it relates design & development of combat vehicle data acquisition systems and in-service fleet data analytics
  • Plan, implement and support data analytics infrastructure related to the recording, transmission, storage, analysis, and presentation of in-service fleet datasets (e.g. CANbus, Maintenance Data, etc.)
  • Identify, develop, and support strategic growth opportunities for analytics work within the R&M Analytics Team and GDLS organization more broadly
  • Lead the R&M Analytics team’s development cycles and its contributing members’ efforts using traceable, measureable tools, with a particular focus on documentation (e.g. Atlassian tools)
  • Provide quantifiable and actionable feedback to both the team and next-level management regarding planned and executed work
  • Proactively develop internal/external customer relationships and demonstrate the value proposition of fleet data analytics and data collection i.e. earn new “business” inside and outside of the organization
  • Lead B&P activities related to Health and Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS), Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM), Prognostic and Predictive Maintenance (PPMx) and Supportability Trend Analysis (STA)
  • Collaborate with other ED&T and IPS teams to support vehicle signals development during design phases to improve analytics capabilities (e.g. fleet metrics, advisory development, addition of sensor hardware, etc.)
  • Create and generate actionable outputs based on in-service fleet data to reduce cost and improve effectiveness of in-service sustainment programs
  • Prepare curated material and present to a variety of consumers (e.g. Program, customers, field service support, etc.)
  • Process and analyze in-service fleet data (CANbus, maintenance, etc.) in support of fielded fleets, design trade-offs, customer inquiries, etc.
  • Provide content/analyzed datasets in clear, understandable, and useful formats to internal and external customers (e.g. failure data for residual useful life model development, fleet aggregates for management, vehicle history dashboards for FSRs, incident data for engineering review, etc.)
  Required Qualifications:  
  • In depth product knowledge of the GDLS family of Light Armoured Vehicles (LAV) e.g. multi-system/program knowledge, strong understanding on control signals
  • Strong technical background and understanding of vehicle logistics skillset common to the R&M team e.g. Life Cycle Cost (LCC) Analysis, Reliability Modeling, Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), support structures, etc.
  • Knowledge of CANbus, data acquisition/on-board vehicle logging, maintenance database records
  • Familiarity with applications within the data science field (e.g. python, R, SQL), UNIX based OS’s, and front-end development tools/frameworks (e.g. Dash, Tableau, HTML/CSS, etc.)
  • University Degree in Engineering
  • 5-7 years’ of engineering experience
  • Strong aptitude and history of self-teaching/learning, ability to creatively solve problems
  • History of recognizing strategic opportunities or potential efficiencies and generating technical analysis in the pursuit and acquisition therein
  • Proficient in reading engineering drawings (e.g. electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics)
  • Strong communication, organization and prioritization skills, focus on interpersonal relationships and leveraging team skillsets for optimized outcomes
  • Effective planning, analytical and negotiation skills, history of positive customer interactions
  • Ability to travel (5% Cdn) and (5% US & Int'l) and possess/be able to acquire a valid passport
  • Must be able to meet Anthropometrical Size Restrictions for confined space
                  Preferred Qualifications:  
  • System integration experience
  • 5+ years R&M experience
  • Familiarity with Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, and Fault Tree Analysis techniques
  • Some knowledge of machine learning and data science processes
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the application of relevant military standards, military equipment usage and doctrine
  • Professional Engineer and/or Certified Reliability Engineer
