Sr. Operations Analyst (Canada Remote)
 

The TOTEM service, founded in 1997, is the leader in providing major market makers in OTC derivatives with definitive consensus prices. More than 90 of the leading banks, trading houses and other investment professionals use the TOTEM service as the key independent check of their trading book valuations. The service encompasses equity, rates, currency, commodity, credit and bond derivatives, providing comprehensive matrices of vanilla prices and a wide selection of exotic products.


Position summary

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our Totem Services team in Toronto, Canada. We are looking for a motivated individual with strong analytical skills and interest in derivatives who would like to utilize their entrepreneurial spirit by taking ownership and being accountable for growing and improving our services.

New hire will be responsible for taking an active role in new product development, build and manage customer relationships, host meetings and forums. This role will enable successful candidate to develop their business skills and expand derivatives knowledge across different asset classes.

The ideal candidate is an independent, organized, self-starter who can communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.


Duties & accountabilities

Organizing and running daily and monthly processes for clients, reviewing and cleaning data, handling simple and complex price challenges Driving process efficiencies and innovations, contributing to the design and testing of existing systems Identifying and developing new Totem initiatives and the related commercial framework Managing and building client relationships providing an excellent level of service Keeping abreast of regulatory and market changes to identify new business opportunities

 

Requirements:

1-3 years of experience Masters in a finance/quantitative discipline. Good understanding of derivatives in one or more asset classes Strong knowledge of common office tools and software including Excel ,VBA, Python. Appetite for providing services to external clients on a regular basis.

Exposure to financial instruments, equity and rates products preferred.

Must be detail-oriented, thorough and able to use own initiative to solve problems Must have the ability to work well in a team ensuring that tasks are completed and issues are followed up and closed Excellent time management and organizational skills are essential Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision Focused on delivery, quality and timeliness, with strong attention to detail Flexible and willing to adapt to changing business requirements Ability to work well under pressure Ability to represent the team in front of clients

 

Communication

Strong skills required to be able to communicate effectively with external clients and across business units within the company.  This will include email, phone and face-to-face meetings. Clear, structured and professional in both writing and speech.

 

Teamwork

Must be able to work in a team environment Must be available to work late hours over month-end period
