The Role

The user experience designer will be responsible for working with stakeholders, gathering requirements, and translating research that forms a core part of Info-Tech's product offerings into informative and supportive visuals. The role requires familiarity with qualitative research methods including usability testing, as we grow our UX research capabilities.

The ideal candidate is a user experience designer who follows human-centered design principles, has a keen interest in usability and inclusive design, and a desire to hone your skills in UX research.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Display expertise in clarifying abstract or complex diagrams, charts, user flows, journeys, wireframes and UI mock-ups, and prototypes.
  • Portfolio highlighting multiple projects and your direct contributions.
  • Familiarity with a user-centered design process in an agile environment.
  •  Ability to use/learn a variety of software (e.g.: Figma, Jira, Sketch).


Who would be an Ideal Candidate?

The ideal candidate will have/showcase:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Experience Design, or post-secondary and equivalent practical experience.
  •  3+ years of experience

Planning and Presentation Skills
  • Demonstrate an understanding how technical constraints, business requirements, and user feedback affects design.
  • Proficiency in communicating user research findings with cross functional partners.
  • Experience collaborating with teams of Designers, Researchers, Engineers, Content Strategists and Product Managers throughout the design process.

Interaction Design Expertise
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and familiarity with the opportunities and limitations of designing for platforms such as desktop and mobile.
  •  Get to know, then advocate for the end user.
  •  Develop effective accessible and inclusive user interfaces (UI) and user experience (UX).
  •  Assist in estimating resource needs and timelines.

Research Competency
  • Understanding of how findings affect product design requirements.
  • Familiarity with design, set up, and implementation of research projects utilizing various methods including but not limited to interviews, usability studies, contextual inquiry, and surveys.
  • Understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during the product development process.
  •  Presentation of research findings through written reports and live presentations.
