Candidate needs to be located within a commutable distance from London, Ontario or Cortland, NY. This role requires 20% travel between London, Ontario, customers, and Cortland, NY.

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an Application Engineer to join our collaborative team within the commercial organization! This role will interface with sales and customers to understand their technical needs and apply Pall Water products and services to meet the customer's needs. The Application Engineer will develop, own and lead Pall Water’s technical bid strategy.

In this role, you will:

  • Technical Proposal Development - 50%
    • Review and interpret complex customer technical specifications, drawings, and water analysis data. Develop complete exceptions and clarifications list.
    • Perform calculations to size equipment. Ensure process design, system design, material and labor cost budget and project delivery schedule in offering are aligned with execution and product capabilities.
    • Develop proposals to meet customer design requirements for new systems, mobile rentals, and long term customer support opportunities to meet customer timelines.
  • Customer/Market Influence - 20%
    • Work with customers to understand their technical needs and apply Pall Water technical value proposition in a timely fashion.
    • Interface with customers, engineers, contractors, and internal team members to understand VOC and generate ideas for growth opportunities.
    • Travel as required as a technical expert to build or increase awareness of Pall Water
  • Operational Execution Support – 20%
    • Facilitate the transfer of an opportunity to a project. Perform technical review of orders to assure consistency of technical requirements, scope, scheduled, and warranty.
    • Provide technical support during project execution, commissioning, and warranty period
  • Process Improvement focus – 10%
    •  Identify, share, and execute additional opportunities for growth for Pall Water.

 

Are you qualified?

  • BS degree in engineering
  • 5+ years experience in advanced water treatment process design
  • Experience performing process and equipment design calculations on low pressure membrane filtration and reverse osmosis equipment.
  • Experience interfacing with external water treatment customers in the Municipal or Industrial markets to understand technical needs.
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and influencing technical specifications and drawings for water treatment applications.
  • Requires 20% travel. Must have no legal restrictions to travel between US and Canada.

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with related technologies for pre-and post-membrane treatment such as dissolved air flotation, granular media filtration, clarifiers, lime softening, coagulation, de-gasifier, ion exchange, and solids handling.
  • Ability to speak Spanish
