Software Development Manager

Are you a deeply technical, transformational leader looking for a new challenge? ZTR is looking for an experienced and energetic Software Development Manager, with a get-things-done approach, to join our rapidly growing IIoT Division.

This role will lead, drive, and grow our core platform team globally. You will work with Architecture, Security, and the CTO to drive to an end-to-end understanding of all systems and cross functional teams to ensure clear, prioritized work streams are well defined.

In this role, you will:

• Organize the team within the delivery cycle, including making resourcing decisions (working with other Managers, Supervisors, and Team Leads), assigning work, planning testing and deployment activities
• Balance organizational priorities and act as an escalation point for delivery issues
• Help to ensure development is according to team standards (design, code, documentation, quality) and processes (planning, estimating, tracking, delivery)
• Drive team member growth through mentoring and training, and motivate the team to strive for excellence
• Work with cross-functional teams and company leaders to ensure successful execution of projects, and support sales activities as needed
• Manage individual and team performance through continuous feedback and formal performance evaluations
• Recruit new staff and evolve the team, aligning growth goals with organizational strategy
• Collaborate with the Software Development Manager for decisions related to budget, resourcing, compensation and recognition

Minimum Qualifications: 

• A Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering or other related field
• 8+ years in a leadership role with direct reports
• 8+ years experience as a full-stack developer.
• Relevant cloud-based infrastructure and CI/CD experience (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Relevant development technologies and languages such as .NET, C#, Java
• RESTful APIs for proprietary and industry standard protocols
• Strong coaching, mentoring and training skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment, coordinating efforts towards a common goal
