OSG is searching for an experienced, motivated Content Marketing Specialist to join our Marketing team. 

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Content Marketing Specialist will lead the development and execution of the OSG email marketing, social media and content strategies. In a highly collaborative position, this role will partner with internal teams to ensure business objectives and priorities are incorporated and delivered within the digital content plan as well as own and drive the social persona of OSG across all social platforms.  It’s a complex and high impact position, and is a great opportunity for a results-driven, analytical person with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines. This is very much a “builder” type role without a manual already in place to reference. As this position will lay the groundwork for long term growth,  our ideal candidate must possess critical thinking, research and organizational skills with a keen understanding of fundamental business concepts. 

This is a work from home position with strong preference to those living in the London to Toronto corridor. Note - while the role is advertised in multiple locations, there is only one position available.

What will you do in this role?

  • Refine, strengthen and further develop our email marketing strategy and campaign schedule
  • Design and execute create successful campaigns by developing relevant and compelling content, analyzing current and past performance, incorporating tested and new best practices and growing and segmenting our subscriber list
  • Develop and monitor automated customer journeys using Active Campaign and A/B testing to grow revenue and increase brand affinity ex. Abandoned cart purchases, cross-sell, upsell and re-engagement journeys 
  • Develop, execute, and monitor a strategy to grow our email list using a variety of tactics including integrations with Salesforce and Woocommerce, opt-in campaigns, lead generation offers, contests, referrals, and leveraging other channels
  • Develop a social media content calendar and create engaging, timely and on-brand content using Hootsuite to align with organizational goals and priorities 
  • Measure social performance including engagement and follower growth to draw conclusions on effective tactics to implement in future campaigns
  • Partner with our external social media agency to craft and execute a paid social strategy that generates direct online sales and offline leads using LinkedIn, Facebook, or Instagram ads
  • Create compelling, factual and informative content on a variety of health and safety topics for our blog to increase website traffic and improve SEO search rankings and grow brand awareness 
  • Audit OSG website content regularly to ensure accuracy, determine opportunities and improve search rankings
  • Analyze campaign results, engagement trends and ROI across all channels while leveraging marketing insights to optimize future campaigns and marketing efforts as a whole 

What can you bring to the table?

  • A post-secondary degree in a relevant field of study, such as Business, Marketing, Communications, or Journalism is strongly preferred
  • 3-4 years of relevant digital, email or social marketing experience in a high volume environment and a demonstrated ability to lead and manage email marketing campaigns including list management, segmentation, developing automated journeys and A/B tests according to industry best practices
  • Proven experience planning, implementing and monitoring a successful Social Media strategy with a strong knowledge of best practices and tools such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram
  • A well honed ability to create, develop and disseminate compelling content for channels such as blogs, email, social media, websites and product descriptions
  • Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, HubSpot, MailChimp
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics, Google Suite, MS Suite and hands-on experience with Salesforce, Hootsuite, Asana, and Google Tag Manager is beneficial 
  • Robust understanding of SEO best practices including keyword research, metadata and content structure
  • A proven ability to analyze complex data and measure the success of a campaign/program, draw conclusions and influence strategy for a channel or product
