The Role:

As a Database Intern at Autodata Solutions (a division of J.D. Power), you will design, implement, operate, and maintain our databases, which support software applications for some of the world's largest automotive companies. Over 30 years, we have

grown to be one of the biggest software companies in London and we are proud to partner with Western University as the largest local supporter of the Computer Science and Software Engineering internship programs.

The Impact You Will Have In This Role

We are hiring 1 Database Intern to join our team of Database Administrators. During your 16-month internship at J.D. Power, your Team Lead and other mentors will help you grow your skills in multiple database technologies including: MySQL, SQL Server,

MongoDB, Cassandra, etc. Join our DevOps team to launch your IT career and refine your abilities in monitoring, back-up and recovery procedures, performance tuning, implementing database change management and more.

What You'll Be Doing In This Role

As a DBA Intern, you will:

 
  • Assist with physical changes to relational databases
  • Assist with codes, tests, and implementations to physical databases
  • Implement user access level for each segment of one or more data items such as: insert, replace, retrieve, etc.
  • Test and correct errors, and refine changes to the database
  • Interact with team members to explore, investigate, and implement requirements as they apply to database technology
     
Qualifications Of This Role

We are looking for:

 
  • An unbridled passion for technology and an ability to get things done
  • High skill with at least one of the following SQL or No-SQL database technologies: MySQL, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Cassandra
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with configuration management tools a plus (i.e. Git)
  • Knowledge of Unix-based or Windows Server based OS working environment would be a huge advantage
  • A natural ability to work as part of a team and a love for fast paced challenging environments
