The IT Security Analyst, working within the Technology department, will be accountable for, monitoring and delivering timely and relevant threat intelligence, investigating events and incidents, and providing technical guidance and support to Infrastructure/Development teams. This is a full-time, permanent position that reports to the Manager, Systems.
The ideal candidate should possess strong collaborative skills to work effectively within teams, while demonstrating initiative and self-motivation as a self-starter capable of independent project execution. You also have excellent oral and written communication skills and can count time management, problem-solving, and managing multiple priorities as your strengths.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborating with stakeholders to monitor and analyze security events and incidents, providing incident response support, risk management, proposing mitigations, and supporting user awareness.
- Identifying and prioritizing vulnerabilities and collaborating with infrastructure and development teams to ensure they are understood and triaged effectively.
- Reviewing threat intelligence to provide effective threat reporting to internal stakeholders.
- Reviewing events and alerts from various security platforms and providing analysis, trending, and insights.
- Developing training material and process documentation on relevant security platforms.
- Respond to alarms and incidents, follow response playbooks;
- Administer, maintain, and support the Vulnerability Management system, SIEM, Cloud monitoring, Intrusion Detection and Multifactor Authentication system.
- Perform vulnerability scans, analysis, validation and remediation activities.
- Develop, implement and maintain cybersecurity procedures and configurations;
- Assist with the execution of Voices's information security strategy and roadmap;
- Providing recommendations for future projects, security tools, and applications, along with associated benefits of the solution.
- Other related duties and responsibilities, as required.
- University degree or a suitable combination of education, experience, or other relevant training.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant, related experience.
- Professional Information Security Certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA, CISM, NCSF, etc.) are considered assets.
Technical Proficiencies
- Demonstrated understanding of attack activities such as network probing/scanning, DDoS, malware analysis, etc.
- Hands on experience in platforms like Windows, Linux, Mac, Cisco, and AWS.
- Experience implementing and using various tools and processes, including vulnerability assessment, patch management, Active Directory, Network devices, IDS, SIEM, etc.
- Working knowledge of cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud.
- Experience with IT security programs like PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, SOC etc would be an asset.
