Cloud Architect

ZTR is looking for an ambitious, strategic Cloud Architect who will provide evolutionary leadership to our cloud platform and services teams. You will be the key contributor to translating our ONE i3 architectural visions into reality while laying the groundwork to new strategies of an ever evolving environment.

With an all growing passion for IIoT, the Cloud Technology Architect will be the “go-to” subject matter expert in all things “cloud,” from diagnosing and fixing complex problems to teaching old and new colleagues about cloud systems at various skill sets; these tasks are but a familiarity to you.

While being a proven pragmatic leader, this role requires strong hands-on technical experience and background in order to work with our architectural peers to drive new multi-year Technical Excellence strategies and provide support to all members IIoT.

ZTR is headquartered in London, ON; for this role, remote work is available.

As the Cloud Architect, you will:

• Develop and contribute extensively to the Architecture team deliverables, including strategy and position papers, product documentation, security whitepapers, PSIRT activities, and continuous improvement activities.
• Translate the architectural vision into execution plans, and define and oversee the translation of architectural principles into clear product roadmaps.
• Collaborate with other architectural peers to drive multi-year Technical Excellence strategies.
• Provide and maintain support, mentorship and guidance to all team members in IIoT.
• Ensures team priorities are managed and delivered appropriately

• Explore, propose, test and measure system architecture environments in order to constantly evolve ZTR’s technological foundations.
• Develop IoT platform solutions applying your knowledge of complex algorithms, design patterns, data structures and software architecture.

• Ensure and maintain the security of ZTR’s systems and environments;
• Collaborate with auditors during security tests.

Minimum Required Qualifications: 

• 10+ years experience  Enterprise Architecture (designing, developing, validating, maintaining)
• 4+ years experience architecting “cloud native” and/or “hybrid cloud” solutions leveraging Google GCP, Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure.

• 5+ years designing and developing large-scale, distributed software applications.

• AWS Certified Solution Architect certification, TOGAF ®, or CISSIP-ISSAP an asset.

• Experience with development of REST APIs and microservices.

• Experience with serverless architecture and containerization.

• Application of API security standards, including OAuth2.0 / OIDC.
• Experience with programming languages such as C# or Java.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer science, or Engineering is an asset
• Excellent understanding of cloud security threats
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and train others at all levels of the organization and with different technical proficiencies.
• Possess a thorough knowledge of architecture concepts (e.g. service oriented architectures and current leading practices).
• Strong ability to deal with ambiguity, stress, and shifting priorities.
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of an open, transparent team.
