Specialist, Human Factors Engineering (HFE)

Position Description:

• Collaborate with design teams to include Human Factors Engineering (HFE) / ergonomic input into vehicle design development
• Conduct, as required, HFE analyses to support recommendations for design changes
• Evaluate customer requirements for HFE and determine vehicle compliance
• Support System Engineering Department in development of the System Specification Document
• Plan and conduct HFE testing, as required, to determine compliance to contract and/or System Specification Document
• Generate, as required, HFE reports

• University Degree in Systems Design Engineering, Human Factors, or Ergonomics
• Minimum 1 years experience in HFE / ergonomics as it applies to product design
• Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment with minimal supervision
• Strong communication, organization and prioritization skills
• Ability to travel (5% Cdn) and (5% US & International) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
• Must be able to meet Anthropometrical Size Requirements for confined space

Preferred Requirements:

• 3 - 5 years experience in HFE/ergonomics as it applies to product design
• Professional certification in Human Factors / Ergonomics (ie: CCCPE, BCPE)
• Experience in Human Factors/Ergonomics in product design
• Proficiency with Human 3-D Modeling Software (JACK®, etc)
• Familiarity with Human System Integration philosophy & tasking
• Familiarity with User Centered Design philosophy and approaches
