The Role: Lead DevOps Tools Developer

The Location: London, ON Canada

The Team:

We are a cross cutting team responsible for deploying and maintaining a shared infrastructure across cloud environments. Our mission is to empower developers through knowledge and tooling, while supporting the underlying platforms. Although there are still some traditional DevOps responsibilities, we aim to evangelize DevOps culture across all teams.

 

The Impact:

You will be working closely with our Technical Architects and Software Engineers to prioritize and develop internal application initiatives. By standardizing and automating our best practices, we enable fixes and features to be deployed quickly and securely. This ensures a faster turnaround on development time for both internal, and external customers

 

Our teams build solutions for the biggest names in the finance industry. Our public and private sites generate over 2 billion hits per week.  If you manage your investments online, you may already be using our solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring of team members both junior and senior
  • Own roadmap and delivery for application development while working with various stake holders
  • Establish product vision to develop, support, and improve automated build, configuration, and management
  • Integrate virtualization, configuration management, and application deployment systems
  • Design and build tools to allow engineering and support teams to troubleshoot issues and isolate problems
  • Advocate for quality and the user experience
  • Deliver quality process training to technical staff and acts as an internal quality consultant to advise or influence business or technical partners
  • Create, manage, and prioritize the backlog with your development team to bring your desired functionality to life

What we look for:

  • At least 7 years of technical experience developing enterprise level solutions
  • Experience setting up, modifying, and maintaining CI systems (ex Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab) 
  • Experience with API development and Auth (Apigee, PING)
  • Experience with Certificate Management (Venafi, AppViewX, etc)
  • Operations Experience with Secret Management tools (Secret Server, Vault, etc)
  • Knowledge of container management platforms (Docker)
  • Knowledge of container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Nomad, and Docker Compose)
  • Experience with monitoring and metric collection toolsets (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Knowledge of configuration management systems (Chef, Ansible, Puppet)
  • Experience with Windows and/or Linux scripting technologies and toolsets (PowerShell, Bash)
  • Experience in Windows and Linux/Unix system administration
  • Development experience with modern scripting languages (Python, Ruby, Node)
  • Development experience with modern compiled languages (C++, C#, Java, Go)
  • Knowledge of modern compiled programming build tools (Make, CMake, NPM, Wheel/PIP, Gems)
  • Knowledge of modern testing principles/applications (Octoperf, Bamboo, JMeter, Selenium)
