Building Automation Technologist - Recruitment Services

The Building Automation Technologist is responsible for the overall operational and technical performance of the Building Automation System. Duties include programming, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of the Building Automation System (BAS). Operation and maintenance of BAS and associated analytical software to provide comfort and safety of occupants in accordance with the Ontario Health and Safety Act, LHSC policy, and applicable service level agreements while ensuring efficiency of building systems and providing life cycle analysis of equipment and related utilities.
Rate of pay: $35.77 per hour - $48.78 per hour
Qualifications
- Successful completion of three (3)-year Certificate/Diploma in Controls, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering Technology
- Certified Engineering Technologist – or eligible to obtain within 2 years after hiring
- Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated advanced problem solving, decision-making and critical thinking skills
- Strong comprehension of Windows Operating Systems including Windows Networking
- Advanced Building Automation System Product knowledge (i.e., hardware and software)
- PLC Programming skills
- Experience with analogue and digital circuits
- Strong computer skills with the ability to rapidly input data, retrieve records, and analyze and interpret information as well as Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Knowledge of electrical/mechanical standards
- Experience reading/interpreting electrical, mechanical, and control drawings and specifications
- Excellent interpersonal, communication skills
- Building systems (HVAC, electrical, and mechanical)
- Technical report writing, ability to understand and analyze technical systems and trends
- Demonstrated ability to successfully prioritize, manage time, multi-task and troubleshoot
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s Vision, Purpose, and Values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
Immunization Requirements:
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step) and COVID vaccine series.
