Subcontract Administrator (Operations Procurement)

Position Description:

  • Assume project leadership for a wide range of procurements from standard purchase orders through to significant subcontracts, with the objective to ensure 100% operational continuity for GDLS-C’s internal customers
  • Work closely with GDLS-C IT to procure software/hardware for internal use and negotiate/manage software service agreements
  • Develop and issue requests for quotation and requests for proposal
  • Conduct fact-finding and negotiation of proposal(s) inclusive of terms and conditions, statements of work, payment plans, and schedules for development and deliveries
  • Manage procurements with special emphasis on attainment of scheduled milestones and overall management of the payment plans, including cost control
  • Identify opportunities for and negotiate cost savings
  • Track commodity trends, understand the market and industry, research/explore new technology and/or capabilities and develop/onboard new suppliers
  • Interface regularly and establish productive, collaborative relationships with suppliers and internal/external customers
  • Present status, issues and risk mitigation strategies to leadership, suppliers and customers (as required).
  • Provide mentorship and coaching support to team members as needed

 

Position Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • University degree or college diploma in business or supply chain related discipline
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience working with Oracle
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
  • High level of organizational skills and detail orientation
  • Creative and innovative thinker
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong negotiating skills and the ability to influence others
  • Ability to travel (5% Cdn and 5% US/Int'l) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous Supply Chain Management Subcontracts experience
  • Financial aptitude
  • Previous experience procuring and / or project managing, software and / or hardware products
