What Opportunity Awaits? 
This new-to-Libro position of Scrum Master is responsible for leading designated agile squads to create and deliver quality solutions and services at their fastest pace.  The Scrum Master cultivates a trusting environment to remove impediments which leads to high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow, and relentless improvement.  
This role offers a hybrid work arrangement including a combination of remote and in-office work with an expectation of an average of 2 days per week in our London, Ontario office
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Leadership Coaching
    • Coaches and guides the squad and organization on how to use scrum, agile practices and methodologies, and Kanban
    • Oversees the overall scrum and agile process for assigned squad(s) and ensures the theory, practices, rules, and values of agile are being followed
    • Provides day to day agile coaching to the squad and facilitates a transparent and adaptive environment
    • Facilitates daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, backlog refinement and planning meetings in a way that ensures full engagement of the squad
    • Establishes an agile mindset within the squad through conversations, coaching, and role-playing exercises, promoting innovative thinking and self-improvement
    • Scrum Masters at Libro will work together on promoting best practices, lessons learned and ensuring agile team alignment
    • Provides functional/technical guidance to Agile team members and shared service staff on how to leverage agile, lean and human-centered design principles and frameworks to solve problems and drive Owner value
  • Agile Squad Support
    • Supports the product owner to facilitate discussion on prioritization and timing of new releases and changes that the team is launching
    • Limits impediments to the squad’s success, such as cultural barriers or logistical challenges, supporting the Product Owner, and ensuring that the squad’s progress and successes are highly visible to all stakeholders through ongoing internal communication and key results reporting.
    • Has hands on involvement in the product and backlog planning. 
    • Understands and communicates the vision for the experience they are building towards and engages beyond process e.g. in solution design, customer feedback and testing, understanding of data / insights.
    • Attend face-to-face meetings and engagements with Agile Team members, internal/external key stakeholders and vendors as needed to glean insights, promote collaboration, and support key deliverables 
  • Relationship Building
    • Fosters close cooperation, cross-training and mutual support across all squad members
    • Facilitates communication & collaboration inside and outside of the squad
    • Shields the squad from external interference and ensures the squad is fully functional and productive
    • Coaches and supports teams across Libro in understanding and building Agile adoption
  • Problem Solving
    • Understands context of the business and the technology sufficiently to problem-solve with development squad, asks the right questions and owns solution quality and continuous delivery to customer
    • Confident and skilled at navigating the squad through roadblocks to allow sprints to be completed on time
    • Strong understanding of risk through adherence to policies & procedures
Qualifications:
  • 2 years College, Trade or Tech School Diploma in IT, Computer Science or related discipline required. Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3+ years of experience being a SCRUM Master or equivalent experience working in an Agile environment 
  • Certified SCRUM Master designation (or to be completed within 12 months)
