Accounting Administrator
 

ZTR has a very exciting new opportunity in the position of Accounting Administrator, reporting to the Finance Manager.  ZTR is a recognized global leader in industrial telematics and locomotive modernization, and we provide a dynamic, professional environment where ideas and innovation are encouraged. 

 

As the Accounting Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting our multiple divisions and employees globally by administering employee expenses and payroll, as well as participating in year end reporting and other accounting functions.

 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform general accounting duties which may include preparing invoices for customers, bank reconciliations, journal entries, month end closing tasks and credit card reconciliations
  • Collect, review, and follow-up on all employee expenses submitted for accuracy and adherence to our travel policy
  • Prepare, submit and review payroll forms for changes, new hires, terminations, expenses and commissions for Canadian and US employees
  • Work closely with Human Resources to answer employees’ on payroll related questions or concerns.
  • Prepare payroll and expense journals
  • Provide salary expense & headcount analysis as required
  • Act as a subject matter expert on the expense process within our ERP system
  • Back-up reception functions, including answering the phone and greeting incoming visitors
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives

 

Qualifications:

  • 1 – 2 years in an accounting administration role
  • Post-secondary education in accounting/finance, business administration, payroll or equivalent work experience.
  • Canadian payroll association courses (not required but preferred)
  • Good working knowledge of Accounting software
  • Ability to deal in an effective, professional manner with internal and external customers.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft office applications.
  • Respect and adherence to confidentiality rules
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail/accuracy
