Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is 40,000 – 95,000 CAD/60,000 - $105,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.

We design, develop, and host data rich, full featured, high traffic web and mobile applications for financial institutions, brokerages, and media clients around the world. We use modern API-driven client-side rendered frameworks and .NET server-side rendered applications to deliver custom user interfaces that complement our clients' existing brand. With access to thousands of in-house data feeds, we utilize highly leveraged service tier applications to create solutions that delight our customers.  Working in an agile and highly collaborative environment, our teams join together as one to deliver world class products.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to a cross-functional agile team developing and maintaining products providing value-added backend vendor data to our clients and feature teams.

 

  • Produce RESTful API applications in Node.js which adhere to specifications defined in Swagger 2.0/OpenAPI
  • Build tools to monitor and display information about our backend systems
  • Dive into data with the desire to understand it and it’s relationship to other data in our systems
  • Develop code for ingestion of vendor data feeds
  • Mentor and learn from developers of all levels, continually building your own skill sets and capabilities in order to help teams achieve their sprint and project goals
  • Partner with our amazing feature teams to bring our client’s vision to reality
  • Tap into your passion for building intuitive, performant, and secure APIs that will be used to create the next generation of industry leading web sites

 

Required qualifications

  • Must have JavaScript development experience
  • Proven experience designing and creating automation frameworks and test suites
  • Experience testing RESTful API’s through Postman collections
  • Experience with TestCafe or Selenium
  • Experience writing test strategies and creating test cases
  • Experience with at least one major UI framework (Svelte, Vue, React, Angular)
  • Experience with Git version control
  • Experience setting up, modifying, and maintaining CI systems (Jenkins preferred)
  • Experience with WCAG 2. 0 A and AA standards
  • Web and Mobile Accessibility
  • Jaws/NVDA/Voice Over/Talk back screen readers
  • WAVE for facilitating web accessibility evaluation by providing a visual representation
  • Experience with other assistive technologies

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 3+ years of application development experience
  • Experience developing RESTFul APIs in Node.js
  • Unit test development using using frameworks like Jest or Mocha
  • Ability to design and develop relational database schemas and code
  • Strong desire to understand our data and how it’s represented
  • Applicable experience using the following technologies:
  • JavaScript, HTML, CSS
  • jQuery, Bootstrap, LESS. SASS
  • React, Vue, or Angular
  • Node.js
  • C# or Java
  • SQL, specifically T-SQL                                                               
  • NPM, Gulp, Continuous Integration Tools
  • Centralized version control system like Git or Subversion
  • RESTful APIs with Swagger/OpenAPI specifications
  • Ability to work independently or in a team-oriented environment
  • Experience working in an Agile Development environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills

 

Nice To Have Skills:

  • Experience working with containers
  • Experience using tools such as GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Artifactory, Consul, and Docker
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and automated testing
  • Understanding of test driven development
  • Knowledge of Financial domain
